Who We Are:
The Counseling Center of Greater Hartford was founded in 1991. We are a group of passionate individuals who believe in the resiliency of human beings and in the desire, innate within all of us to grow and change. As practitioners our work is grounded in psychodynamic theory, meaning that we believe human behavior is shaped by both conscious and unconscious influences. Our clientele is varied as we serve our entire community. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds, families of all types, those grappling with addiction, divorce, sexual issues, gender issues, traumas, disabilities, issues of identity and career concerns. We offer both long-term and short-term therapies.

Therapists
Statement
Inside each of us is an innate longing for life
and wholeness. We are like seeds. When the conditions are right - when
there is enough sunlight and moisture and warmth - the seed quite naturally
cracks its shell and reaches up toward the light. At first the growth
is tentative, but with each passing day that the conditions are steady,
the sprout becomes more and more robust. Our job as therapists is to
help get the conditions right for each person, then nature takes over
from there. People grow beautifully once the conditions are right.

For an appointment
with any of our therapists, you may leave a detailed, confidential message
on the voice mail numbers listed on the home page or
visit this page to send us information about yourself.
